“Because of need, you have to continually adjust in real estate,” she explained. “Agents are in the service business.”

Laura is disaster-trained, and during the Los Angeles wildfires, she stepped in when a client—facing both the loss of his home and urgent open-heart surgery—was left stranded in a hotel. The doctor wouldn’t operate until he had permanent housing, but the criteria for that home were daunting. Laura made it happen.

“You need to be that safe place they can come to,” she says. “I love this job. I love being involved.”
